TROJB was the design lead for the Shapoorji Pallonji Kuwait design/build team for the New Al Sabah Hospital in Kuwait. The Hospital provides 617 beds within a gross building area of approximately 200,000 square meters plus a multi-story car park for approximately 1400 cars.

 

The focus of the Hospital was to establish a free standing facility which integrates Internal Medicine and Surgical Services into a single structure as a complement to the existing healthcare related facilities which collectively create the Sabah Health Region Campus. Al Sabah Hospital serves three major functions, acting as:

-a secondary care facility providing general and specialized clinical services

-support for the Al Amiri Hospital, providing general secondary care to the residents of Capital Governorate

-the first point of contact for patients sustaining multiple injuries and trauma, requiring multidisciplinary management and stabilization prior to their referral elsewhere within the Sabah Health Region.

 

The site is formed by a greenfield site of approximately 60,000 square meters plus a plot of 21,400 square meters occupied by existing nurse hostel buildings and an existing road. The area totals approximately 88,710 square meters in the Al Sabah Medical district in Kuwait.
